Lingerie Modeling

If you are looking to start a lingerie or swimwear modeling career the first thing you will need is a portfolio or "book" of your modeling work, preferably taken by a professional photographer although good model agencies will be able to tell if you have what it takes from a simple polaroid, snapshot or digital picture. Most agencies will be looking for the following shots:

• Headshot (face close up) smiling
• Headshot without smile
• Full length body shot
• Half length body shot

Agencies also prefer that you do NOT wear make up in these shots, keep your hair away from your face and natural looking, do not pose and have your photo taken against a plain, preferably white wall. The agents are interested in your natural beauty.

There are thousands of modeling agencies on the Internet and many offer free portfolio advice or you can submit your portfolio for them to look at for free. Many agencies or model directories also offer recommendations for photographers. Some of the larger model agencies include Elite, NEXT Models, Alliance Model Management and IMG. You may also find some specialist lingerie modeling agencies.

Model scouts are also a useful way to get your "foot in the door" of the modeling business, these scouts work on your behalf and submit your portfolio or images to the leading agencies.
